Some of our least authentic worship happens on the days when we want to offer our best. We dress in our best clothing and perform our best music. We preach our best sermons. The LORD must share the stage with our egos as we crowd both Him and any true worshipers from the congregation into the background. The true worshipers look up at the polished ones onstage and immediately feel inadequate and self conscious.
